· How does the IT Edition compare to the Server, SBS Or Desktop Editions?

ShadowProtect IT Edition is designed to be a change management and migration tool, not a backup solution. As no scheduling capabilities are included within the IT Edition, it is not designed to backup a production system on a regular basis.

· Supported Platforms

For Live, Real-Time Imaging without rebooting, the operating system and databases must support Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadowcopy Services). This is included as standard on:

• Server 2003, Server 2008, XP and VISTA
• Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007
• SQL 2005
• SBS 2003

For non-VSS systems and databases, the system must be booted off the Recovery CD for ExactState™ imaging in its cold state. These environments include:

• Server 2000 & Windows 2000
• Exchange 2000
• SQL 2000
• Most other Windows based databases
• Limited support for some Linux environments (no HIR) is also provided (but not supported by StorageCraft) for cold state imaging
